About Us

Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Early College is located on the Elizabeth City campus of College of The Albemarle and located on the second floor of Building C.  Our doors first opened in August 2017 and we celebrated our first graduating class in 2021!

Students interested in ECPEC are required to complete an application process and be accepted in order to attend.

Our program is designed for students who want or need a challenge, students who would be first-generation college graduates, or students willing to work in order to reach their goals.

At ECP Early College, we prepare our students to meet the challenges of whatever career they choose.

At ECP Early College, our students have the opportunity to earn an associate degree while  still in high school and our campus offers them a wide variety of degrees, certifications, and programs to choose from.  Whether a student wants to continue their education at a 4‑year college/university or start their career after graduation, there is a path here at ECPEC.

At ECP Early College, we will provide our students with an environment that is challenging and supportive, a curriculum designed to help students grow in the classroom and as a person, as well as many opportunities to explore, get involved, and to stay connected.

Welcome to the Gryphon’s Domain!  Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Early College was founded in 2017 on the Elizabeth City campus of the College of The Albemarle.

At ECP Early College, we are preparing students for life as global citizens by developing responsible, independent, motivated lifelong learners. We empower students to develop self-awareness of their learning processes and to cultivate collaborative skills to enhance their learning experiences in their pursuit of further learning experiences. We believe all students can learn at high levels when provided with effective instruction and held to high standards. We foster successful outcomes by working collaboratively with students, parents, and the community.

At ECPEC, we provide opportunities for students to get involved. There are clubs for all interests, field trips, and social activities for students to participate in. We provide opportunities for students to connect with adults in a variety of career fields and fields of study to help provide students an opportunity to explore their interests, future pathways, as well as connect with the community they live in.

We have a lot to offer students with a comprehensive approach to education. In addition to earning their high school diploma, our students have the opportunity to earn an associate’s degree, or college certification/diploma, while they are still in high school. Our campus offers a wide variety of degrees and programs to choose from. If a student wants to continue their education at a 4-year college/university or start their career upon graduation, we have a path for them.

We are excited and look forward to the many successes of our students!
